About the MIPTIS Doctoral School

The MIPTIS Doctoral School (ED 551) brings together researchers and doctoral students in the fields of mathematics, computer science, theoretical physics and engineering. It is supported by a network of laboratories of excellence in the Centre-Val de Loire region, and its mission is to train top-level researchers capable of contributing to the advancement of scientific and technological knowledge.

Our PhD students are involved in cutting-edge research covering a wide range of subjects, from applied and theoretical mathematics to artificial intelligence, materials physics, computer engineering and many other fields. The MIPTIS ED favors an interdisciplinary approach, enabling enriching collaborations between researchers from different backgrounds.

Objectives of Doctoral Students' Day

The MIPTIS Doctoral Student Day is an annual event that aims to:

  • Promote scientific exchanges: This day provides an opportunity for PhD students to present their research, exchange with peers, and receive constructive feedback from experienced researchers. It also reinforces connections between different disciplines represented within the doctoral school.

  • Encourage collaborations: By bringing together researchers from diverse backgrounds, this event fosters the creation of new synergies and collaborations. It's a unique chance for PhD students to discover other research fields, expand their professional network, and build innovative collaborative projects.

  • Promote communication skills: Presenting one's research to a diversified audience is an essential skill for any researcher. The PhD Student Day offers a friendly framework to develop these skills through oral presentations, posters, and discussion sessions.

  • Value the work of PhD students: This event also serves as a showcase to highlight the research conducted by MIPTIS Doctoral School. By participating, PhD students contribute to the visibility of their work while affirming their active role within the scientific community.
